Legend says this stone was erected some time between 625 - 704. As the plague advanced north toward the glen, Saint Adamnan gathered the local people together, plunged his staff into the ground and declared that no one should pass that point; after which, all were spared. Alledgedly the stone was erected in that exact place. | ||
